Devlog: The jam is finished.

The stressful week had gone by but we still have more plans for our game.

The jam week was quite a busy week for us. We tried to get the most done despite having real-life duties to tend to. Our scope had to be cut short in numerous ways but we think that should not be thrown into the void forever. We have heard people enjoying our game (even though it is only 30-ish downloads) and would like to see it in full form, and we are happy to oblige.

Back in our plan, we were planning to have more zones or areas for players to explore which will be divided into 3 main acts. Players have to gather their gear and items to fight the boss in the final of each act to progress further. Obviously, we did not have that yet, but it will take us some time to redesign the current main level as it was rushed to finish within the jam submission time. Currently, combats are not rewarding and we are thinking about how to make them rewarding. We are considering making chests no longer randomly generated and taking some of the loot into enemies' drops. This way players should feel more incentive towards taking combats rather than avoiding them. Chests will be rarer and harder to find.

We also have a gold coin prefab sitting in our game files without doing anything. Yes, you are correct! We planned to add shops too, only before the boss fights but that may change in the future. Speaking of items and gear, some items are just busted in their own way like the "Glaive" or the "Dark Chestplate" because we did not have time to add more turn-based effects into the game.  We will definitely add them and put these gear to what we had in the plan (also adding more items, open to suggestions!) but in the v1.0.1 that will be released after the jam rating period will be mainly bug fixes and slight balancing on gear and items. In the future, we will add turn-based effects like buffs and debuffs into different gear pieces. Upgradable gear should put more depth into the combat and building your loadout but this might be the very last to come on the list.

Anyway, this is just a glimpse of what's about to come. :)

Although we have the plan to continue our game, we won't be as active as we were while doing the game jam. We will try our best to deliver the full-fledged final product for you all to enjoy for free. Donations are always appreciated but not necessary.

Suggestions are always welcome!
